Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his iconic role as Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," tragically passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 54.
His death occurred in an accidental drowning incident while he was on a family vacation in Costa Rica. The incident took place at Cocles Beach in Limón Province, where he was caught in a powerful ocean current, commonly known as a rip current, which swept him out to sea.
Bystanders bravely pulled him from the water, and the Costa Rican Red Cross responded swiftly. However, despite their efforts, he was declared dead at the scene. The official cause of death was confirmed as asphyxia by submersion, indicating he drowned after inhaling water and being deprived of oxygen.
