ADC condemns Tinubu for Nigeria’s sidelining at US–Africa commerce dialogue.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) today accused President Tinubu’s administration of “failing Nigerians” after Nigeria was reportedly left out of recent US–Africa trade talks. ADC officials labeled the omission a diplomatic misstep that undermines economic opportunity and regional leadership.
The ADC argued that although the government championed Nigeria's BRICS membership, its international trade agenda remains underwhelming. The exclusion, they said, demonstrates a disconnect between diplomatic promises and real-world results.
Tinubu's office defended the decision, citing scheduling conflicts and strategic planning. But ADC countered that missing critical trade platforms weakens Nigeria's negotiation position on tariff waivers, investment inflows, and market access.
As political tensions rise, both the government and ADC are set to make their cases to international partners. Observers described today’s exchange as the beginning of what could become a national debate on Nigeria's global economic posture.
