Nigerian Army Special Forces School Relocates to Nasarawa
The Nigerian Army has officially relocated its Special Forces Training School from Buni Yadi, Yobe State, to Doma Local Government Area in Nasarawa State.
The decision was announced by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, who emphasized that the move is a strategic effort to enhance the training of elite troops by providing a more suitable and secure environment. He stated that the new location will allow the army to equip its personnel with the advanced skills necessary for complex operations, ensuring their training meets international standards.
The former training facility in Yobe State will not be abandoned. It has been repurposed as the Nigerian Army Acclimatization Centre, which will specialize in preparing troops for the specific operational challenges of the North-East region.
Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State expressed his support for the relocation, calling it a significant development for the state's security and a testament to its stability. He highlighted that Nasarawa's proximity to the Federal Capital Territory and its generally peaceful environment make it an ideal new home for the Special Forces School.
