Children Among Dozens Killed in Latest Gaza Strikes
Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, July 13, resulted in the deaths of at least 39 people, including nine children, according to reports from the Associated Press and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital officials.
In Nuseirat, an Israeli strike killed at least 30 individuals, including six children, at a water collection point. Witnesses reported that approximately 20 children and 14 adults were present, queuing for water at the time of the strike. The Israeli military stated it had targeted a militant, attributing the munitions falling "dozens of meters from the target" to a technical error.
Separately, officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that an Israeli strike on a home in the central town of Zawaida killed nine people, among them three children.
These incidents contribute to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The Gaza Health Ministry, under Hamas-run government, reports that the total Palestinian death toll in Gaza has surpassed 58,000 since October 7, 2023, with women and children constituting over half of the fatalities. UNICEF reported on May 27, 2025, that over 50,000 children have been killed or injured in the Gaza Strip since October 2023.
