President Tinubu awards top national honour to Professor Benedict Oramah for financial leadership.
In a solemn ceremony today, President Tinubu officially presented the GCON honour to Professor Benedict Oramah, outgoing Chairman of Afreximbank, crediting his contributions to Africa’s trade and Nigeria’s economic diplomacy.
Tinubu lauded Oramah’s tenure for expanding intra‑Africa trade financing, emphasizing his role in bringing the 2025 annual Afreximbank meetings to Abuja. The honour ceremony was attended by ministers, diplomats, and financial leaders.
Oramah expressed gratitude, noting that the award symbolizes Africa's collective economic strength and calling for enhanced infrastructure and youth empowerment. He also mentioned Nigeria’s role in supporting continental financial agendas.
Economic analysts view the honour as a strategic reaffirmation of Nigeria’s leadership in regional finance and commitment to global economic collaboration.
