On June 26, a faction of PDP governors led by Oyo’s Seyi Makinde publicly protested INEC’s rulings concerning the NEC’s dates.
Alleging party manipulation, the group signalled deeper fractures ahead of 2027 elections. Some blamed national chairman Damagum’s unilateral decisions.
