Edo police To Deploy Drones in Forest Combing, raid Cultists In Their Home.
The police air force and the civil defense teams, led by the Edo State Commissioner of Police Mandona, are on a mission to search the forest for suspects and their hiding places. A Nigerian Air Force helicopter is providing air surveillance for the operation. At the end of the day's mission, CP Uonica stated that the operation was a success. He added that technology will soon be deployed for better results.
"We have been studying the forest to find ways to overcome this challenge, and we have resorted to collaboration. Additionally, I want to announce that we are introducing technology in our efforts. We have acquired drones that we will deploy immediately in the forest, as we believe this will be very effective in monitoring the area. We do not want the forest to remain ungoverned."
Regarding the ongoing crackdown on cultism, the Edo police boss emphasized that the fight will now be taken directly to the offenders. "We are going after them in their homes. We have their names and addresses, so this is a message to all criminals who think they can hide in their parents' houses or elsewhere within Benin City or the surrounding areas: we are coming for you."
The Edo Police Command has assured the public that instead of waiting for crime to be committed, it is implementing proactive measures to address security challenges in the state.
