The "Rage Against The Regime" protests, a series of nationwide anti-administration demonstrations, were held on August 2, 2025, in over 300 U.S. cities. The name "Rage Against The Regime" is a direct nod to the band Rage Against the Machine, and organizers have consistently emphasized that the events are intended to be non-violent.

Immigration: The "weaponization of ICE," with activists referring to detention centers as "Alligator Alcatraz," and the administration's aggressive deportation policies.
Social programs and federal agencies: The dismantling or proposed cuts to programs like Medicaid and SNAP, as well as federal agencies such as the Department of Education and the National Weather Service.
Jeffrey Epstein files: The administration's alleged handling or "covering up" of information related to the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Civil rights: Perceived attacks on transgender rights and a general erosion of democratic institutions.
Economic policy: The administration's tariff policies and budget cuts.
The 50501 movement, whose name stands for "50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement," previously organized other major nationwide protests, including "No Kings" on June 14th and the "Hands Off" protests on April 5th. The group’s stated goal is to "transform anger into action" and demonstrate that the "American working class refuses to stand by while plutocrats dismantle democratic institutions, erode civil liberties, and undermine the rule of law."
The August 2nd protests are also notable because they took place on the birthday of the current Vice President, J.D. Vance.
