President Tinubu Celebrates Sambo's Birthday and Wadada's Turbaning

Tribute to Former Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo
President Tinubu extended his heartfelt congratulations to former Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, who turned 71. In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Sambo as an "elder statesman," a man of "integrity and loyalty," and a dedicated public servant.
Sambo, a distinguished architect, served as Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010 before becoming Vice President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015 under President Goodluck Jonathan. President Tinubu's message highlighted Sambo's unwavering commitment to national unity and stability. It also recognized Sambo's continued leadership both in Nigeria and the West African subregion, noting his recent role as head of the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission in Ghana in December 2024. The statement also commended Sambo for his ongoing support for peace-building efforts and religious tolerance in Kaduna State.
Senator Aliyu Wadada Ahmed's Turbaning
President Tinubu also offered his congratulations to Senator Aliyu Wadada Ahmed on his turbaning as the "Magajin Dangin Lafia." This traditional title was bestowed upon the senator by His Royal Highness, Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage, the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs.
In his message, President Tinubu described the honor as a testament to Senator Wadada's "unwavering dedication to public service," his strong community ties, and his "longstanding contributions" to the development of Nasarawa State and the nation. The President also commended the Emir of Lafia for recognizing individuals whose character and patriotism align with the emirate's values. Tinubu expressed confidence that as the "Magajin Dangin," a revered traditional chieftaincy title signifying community leadership, Wadada would continue to promote peace and development in the Lafia Emirate, Nasarawa State, and all of Nigeria.
