Nigeria's Deputy Speaker Calls Youth the "Heartbeat of the Nation"
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, referred to Nigerian youths as the "heartbeat of the nation" in a statement released to commemorate the 2025 International Youth Day.
In his statement, Kalu praised the critical role of young people in driving progress within communities and accelerating national growth and development. He highlighted their hard work, resilience, creativity, patriotism, and passion for greatness, expressing his belief that these qualities would lead them to a more prosperous and inclusive future.
The Deputy Speaker also noted that his office is collaborating with various youth-led organizations to implement empowerment programs and initiatives. He acknowledged the current administration's youth-friendly stance and its efforts to empower them further. Kalu concluded by urging young people to continue their support for the government's "Renewed Hope Agenda" and to remain law-abiding citizens.
