Nigeria Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement to October 2nd
The Nigeria Police Force has extended the enforcement deadline for tinted glass permits to October 2, 2025. This marks the second time the deadline has been extended since the initial announcement.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the decision was prompted by a significant increase in permit applications on the official portal, demonstrating a rise in public compliance. The additional time will allow the police to thoroughly vet all applications to ensure permits are issued only to qualified individuals, addressing national security concerns. The extension will also be used to improve the digital and physical verification processes to prevent misuse of the permit system.
The police have reiterated that the official platform for applications is possap.gov.ng and have urged the public to report any cases of extortion or unauthorized processing.
