Man Rescued 10 Hours After Abuja Building Collapse
A 27-year-old man, Aliyu Salisu, was successfully rescued after being trapped for nearly 10 hours under the rubble of a collapsed three-story building in the Lifecamp area of Abuja. The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, prompted a swift and coordinated emergency response.

Incident Timeline: The building, reportedly still under construction, collapsed at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 2nd. The FCT Police Command received a distress call shortly after.
Rescue Efforts: The operation was a multi-agency effort led by the Divisional Police Officer of the Lifecamp Division. It involved personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the FCT Administration's Development Control Department, and specialized teams from Julius Berger Construction Company and Zeberced Construction Company. The area was immediately cordoned off to ensure the safety of both rescuers and the public.
The Rescue: After working tirelessly through the night, rescue teams successfully extricated Aliyu Salisu, a citizen of the Niger Republic, at about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 3rd.
Victim's Condition: Salisu was rushed to Cedar Crest Hospital in Gudu, where he is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
