Four Dead in Arizona Medical Transport Plane Crash
A medical transport plane crash on the Navajo Nation in Arizona has resulted in the deaths of four people.
The plane, a twin-propeller Beechcraft King Air B300 operated by Albuquerque-based CSI Aviation, crashed on Tuesday, August 5.
The four victims were all medical personnel—two pilots and two healthcare providers—who were on a flight to the Chinle Municipal Airport to pick up a patient requiring critical care.
The aircraft crashed while on its landing approach, and the Navajo Nation Police Department confirmed that it caught fire after impact.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren offered condolences, saying the loss of the four dedicated medical professionals "is felt deeply across the Navajo Nation."
