Former Disciple of T.B. Joshua Speaks Out on Ministry's Legacy
LAGOS — A former disciple of the late Prophet T.B. Joshua has spoken publicly about his time serving under the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). The disciple, who identified himself as one of five "wise men" chosen by Joshua, discussed his personal journey, the teachings he received, and the controversies that have surrounded the ministry since Joshua's passing.
The disciple, who was a student of mechanical engineering when he first met Joshua, explained that he was drawn to the ministry by the prophet's humility and the miraculous healings he witnessed. He stated that he committed himself fully to serving the ministry, even forgoing his national youth service and university convocation. He maintained that he had a "personal conviction" that the ministry was of God, despite negative rumors and attacks against the prophet.
Addressing the controversy and documentaries that have emerged since Joshua's death, the disciple attributed the negative narratives to "disgruntled elements" who were expelled from the ministry for failing to adhere to its strict, "military lifestyle" principles. He defended Joshua, arguing that any genuine man of God will face opposition and that the "blasphemers" were those who were close to the prophet.

Monetization of Ministry: He condemned the practice of charging people for consultation and prayers, stating it is "biblically... not right."
Prophecy and Drought: He referenced a prophecy made in December 2023 about a drought in Southern and Eastern Africa, which he said was fulfilled. He shared that he and his partners had provided humanitarian aid in Zambia to support those affected.
Marital and Family Life: The disciple confirmed he is married with a son and that his wife is from Uganda.
