VeryDarkMan Accuses Gospel Artist Mercy Chinwo of Online Harassment and Influence Peddling
LAGOS, NIGERIA – Prominent Nigerian blogger known as "VeryDarkMan" has publicly accused gospel artist Mercy Chinwo of attempting to "patronize" and "oppress" him, vowing to block her on social media. The blogger's allegations stem from Chinwo reportedly following his social media account, which he views with suspicion given his past criticisms.
VeryDarkMan's recent posts suggest that Chinwo's actions are part of a broader pattern of "evil disguised as gospel artists" and a calculated move following his vocal support for EZT Concepts, a company that had previously retracted a statement regarding Chinwo's husband. He claims that EZT Concepts was pressured into retracting their statement due to alleged oppression and "connections" used by Chinwo and her associates.
In a highly charged statement, VeryDarkMan directly implicated an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) official, alleging corruption and bias within the agency. He claimed that this official, whom he identified as a "redeemed pastor" and a friend of Chinwo's husband, was complicit in the alleged "illegal arrest and oppression" of EZT Concepts' CEO. He further asserted that over $200,000 was "transferred" to Mercy Chinwo, though he did not provide evidence for this claim.
The blogger also recounted his own past encounter with the EFCC, where he was allegedly "kidnapped" and questioned about his criticisms, specifically asking why the agency wasn't investigating the "pastor" EFCC official. He accused the EFCC of succumbing to external pressure.
VeryDarkMan additionally launched an attack on a "short lawyer" whom he alleges is a "manipulative fellow" and engaged in political maneuvering, predicting the lawyer's failure in politics. He stated that he has "better lawyers" to counter any legal actions against him.
The blogger concluded by warning his audience against engaging with those he perceives as "oppressors" and reiterated his stance against associating with individuals he deems "evil," particularly those in religious circles who, in his view, act contrary to their public image. He confirmed his intention to block Mercy Chinwo from his social media.
