Lagos Campus Beach Soccer Tournament Kicks Off, Tackling Drug Abuse
The highly anticipated Lagos Campus Beach Soccer tournament is set to commence today, July 26, 2025, at Atican Beach, Lekki. This annual event is a collaborative effort between the Lagos State Government and BrandEscort Communications.
More than ten higher education institutions from across Lagos State are slated to participate, showcasing their talent on the sand. Expected participants include:
University of Lagos (UNILAG)
Lagos State University (LASU)
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH)
Lagos State University of Education (LASUED)
Lagos State College of Nursing
Federal College of Education (Technical)
Lagos State University of Science and Technology
This year's tournament carries a crucial social message, themed "Addressing Drug Abuse and Addiction." This focus underscores the vital importance of combating this issue among Nigerian youth. Beyond the competition, the initiative aims to foster a vibrant beach soccer culture within campuses and establish a pathway for young, talented players to pursue professional opportunities in the sport. Leading up to the grand finale, a "campus storming activation" featuring promotional tours and visits to participating schools is planned to build excitement and engagement.
