Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has categorically denied media reports suggesting he plans to defect to the APC, affirming at a road‑construction ceremony that he remains in the PDP, committed to his electoral mandate.
A Monday stakeholders’ meeting at Osogbo’s Government House confirmed Adeleke and PDP leaders decided to maintain unity and formally endorse President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.
The defection rumours were fueled by two PDP senators defecting to APC, intensifying speculation around Adeleke. But both Governor Adeleke and Osun’s APC have dismissed such reports as baseless.
Political observers say the dual message—denial of defection and public endorsement of Tinubu—signals a careful balancing act to retain state-level support while maintaining national political relevance.
