Paul Ibe urges President Tinubu to repair Nigeria’s economy and leave opposition parties to their democratic role.
Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, sharply criticised President Bola Tinubu for allegedly weaponising state resources to weaken rival parties. Ibe accused the administration of attempting to manufacture a one-party state and distracting attention from Nigeria’s worsening economy.
The comments follow President Tinubu’s recent slur against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during the APC National Executive Committee meeting. Ibe condemned the move as a diversion from governance failures.
Ibe also warned that Tinubu’s drive for re‑election in 2027 appears to be overshadowing urgent national issues like inflation and fiscal mismanagement. He called on the president to resolve internal tensions, particularly with his Vice President, and stabilise governance.
Analysts suggest Atiku’s message resonates with citizens frustrated by economic stagnation and may galvanise opposition mobilization ahead of the 2027 polls.
