"American Idol" Executive Robin Kaye and Husband Thomas DeLuca Found Fatally Shot in Los Angeles Home; Suspect Arrested
In a shocking tragedy that has sent ripples through the entertainment industry, Robin Kaye, a longtime music supervisor for "American Idol," and her husband, musician Thomas DeLuca, both 70, were found fatally shot inside their Encino, Los Angeles home on Monday, July 14th. Authorities are investigating the case as a double homicide and have since arrested a suspect.
Details Emerge in Apparent Burglary Gone Wrong
The grim discovery was made by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers who responded to a welfare check at the couple's residence on the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue after concerns were raised when they had not been heard from for several days. Upon arrival, officers noted a trail of blood leading to the front of the property and gained entry through a shattered glass sliding door at the back of the house. Both Kaye and DeLuca were found in separate rooms—Kaye in the pantry and DeLuca in the bathroom—with gunshot wounds to the head. First responders pronounced them dead at the scene.
Police believe the couple may have returned home while a burglar was inside their residence. A confrontation then ensued, leading to the fatal shootings.
Suspect Apprehended, Investigation Ongoing
On Tuesday, July 15th, the LAPD announced the arrest of Raymond Boodarian, a 22-year-old resident of Encino, in connection with the double homicide. While police sources indicate that the killings appear to be random and there is currently no known connection between the victims and the suspect, the investigation is ongoing to determine further details. Charges against Boodarian have not yet been announced.
It has also been revealed that police had been called to the same address on July 10th for a possible burglary report, though no visible signs of forced entry were found at that time. Investigators now suspect that Boodarian may have gained entry to the home through an unlocked door on that earlier date. A close family friend reportedly told Fox News Digital that the couple had even increased their security after a previous break-in, having moved to the Encino neighborhood "to be safe."
