ADC lambasts government response after US flags Nigeria as high-risk travel destination.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the federal government’s handling of a U.S. State Department travel advisory, which placed Nigeria at Level 3 (“Reconsider Travel”) due to insecurity concerns. The party described the advisory as symptomatic of governance failure and accused the government of ignoring rising insecurity nationwide.
ADC officials said the advisory underscores lost international confidence and called for urgent reforms in security policies, border safety, and infrastructure protection. They warned that tourism, trade, and foreign investment may suffer unless transparent action is taken.
In a statement, ADC leaders accused President Tinubu’s regime of reactive "damage control" rather than proactive security leadership, urging public accountability and strategic planning.
Political analysts note the advisory reaffirmed domestic fears and strengthened ADC’s argument that APC mismanagement extends beyond domestic politics into Nigeria’s global image.
