Upper Chamber Approves Budget for INEC District Office Buildings
The Senate has approved the construction of new INEC district offices across all 774 local government areas.
Budget allocated totals ₦150 billion, and construction is expected to start by Q4 2025. INEC Chairman praised the move, saying enhanced office infrastructure will strengthen voter registration drives and election oversight.
Civil society activists hailed the development as a way to reduce logistical challenges and empower local electoral officials ahead of the 2027 elections.
