PDP Warns Against Authoritarian Drift in Nigeria
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a scathing statement accusing President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to turn Nigeria into a one-party state. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, alleged that critical voices are being silenced and democratic processes hijacked.
The party cited recent crackdowns on opposition leaders, electoral interference, and manipulation of state institutions. The PDP called on Nigerians and the international community to stand against what it describes as a creeping dictatorship.
However, the presidency swiftly denied the allegations, reiterating Tinubu’s commitment to a robust multiparty democracy.
