Notorious Bandit Kingpin "Mai Dada" Killed by Locals in Zamfara
In a significant victory against banditry, a notorious kingpin identified as Mai Dada has been confirmed killed by courageous locals in Gagi Mayaranta village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The police confirmed the incident to News men, commending the bravery of the community members.
Mai Dada was a name synonymous with terror for communities along the Gusau-Sokoto highway and other parts of Sokoto and Kebbi states. He was widely believed to be the mastermind behind numerous abductions and criminal activities that plagued these areas.
According to reports, the bandit kingpin met his end when he audaciously rode into Gagi Mayaranta village on a motorcycle, seemingly for "sightseeing." His presence was quickly recognized by the vigilant locals, who swiftly mobilized and took him down.
Mai Dada was also strongly suspected of orchestrating the abduction of a foreign national involved in the construction of the Gusau-Sokoto dual carriageway. The expatriate was held captive for several months, a case that drew significant attention and concern.
Zamfara State Police Command Spokesperson, Yazid Abubakar, confirmed Mai Dada's killing to News men, expressing profound appreciation for the locals' gallantry. He highlighted their actions as a vital demonstration of community support in the ongoing fight against insecurity in the region.
