Nigerian Troops Uncover Ritual Shrine in Taraba Bandit Camp
Taraba State, Nigeria – In a significant two-day clearance operation, Nigerian Army troops from Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke have uncovered a suspected ritual shrine used by bandits in southern Taraba State. The operation, led by Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kingsley Chia Bera, resulted in a direct confrontation with a notorious bandit group.
According to a statement by Captain Olundunyomi, acting assistant director of Army Public Relations for the 6th Brigade, troops encountered heavy resistance at the hideout of bandit leader "Virgata." The soldiers, however, overpowered the bandits, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest and abandon their camp.
A subsequent search of the location revealed a building equipped with four built-in detention cells, believed to have been used to hold kidnap victims while awaiting ransom payments. More disturbingly, troops discovered a shrine containing a human skull, providing strong evidence of occult practices supporting the bandits' criminal activities.
During the operation, troops also recovered 14 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition loaded in an AK-47 magazine. The entire bandit camp was thoroughly cleared and completely destroyed.
Brigadier General Bera reaffirmed the troops' unwavering commitment to dismantling all criminal networks operating in Taraba State, ensuring the safety and security of the region.
