Military Chief's Regret Recent Boko Haram Attacks.
The Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Air Staff are present to celebrate the 2025 Adel Kabar with wounded troops in the northeast theater of operations. The celebration is taking place at the Mai Malari Barak parade ground, with the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, serving as the special guest of honor.
The theater commander of Operation Hadin Kai acknowledged the challenges faced in recent weeks, during which a commanding officer and other personnel made the ultimate sacrifice. He assured the troops of their resolve to continue the fight, stating, “We will not be complacent to avoid a reversal of the gains we have already made. Instead, we shall remain focused on our new charge to be more decisive and intensify our efforts to bring the insurgency in the northeast to an end as soon as possible.”
The Chief of Air Staff announced the deployment of aircraft and other fighting equipment to enhance operations in the northeast, which aims to invigorate the fight and maintain operational tempo. The Nigerian Air Force has introduced several new platforms and improved capabilities in the theater. The F-7 fighter aircraft has been stationed there and is combat-ready for rapid response operations. Additionally, an A-29 Super Tucano aircraft has joined the fleet for precision strikes and close air support, including capabilities for night operations.
Amid the festivities, the Governor of Borno State urged the military to address all collaborators undermining efforts against insurgency. He stated, “Let me use this opportunity to call upon all military personnel to deal with collaborators ruthlessly, including women—any family that is working towards freeing or exonerating perpetrators.”
The event concluded with the theater commander leading the governor and military leaders in serving lunch to the wounded troops.
