DSS ordered to hand over it officer to the jigawa state police for investigation
A Federal High Court in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to hand over Ifeanyi Onyewuenyi, accused of abducting and forcefully impregnating Walida Abdulhadi, a teenager, to the police for investigation.
Early 2026 the story of walida makes major headline as the case was involving a DSS personnel, identified as Ifeanyi Onyewuenyi who was accused as the abductor of Walida a massive outcry from civil society, organizations, and the Jigawa community, demanding her safe return and the prosecution of the officer.
While walida family claims that she is a minor within the age of 16 years the DSS cited that walid was 22 years.
A joined committee was created to carry out the investigation that includes Walida’s biological father, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), The Muslim Lawyers Association (MULAN), Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA) and officials from the Ministry of Women Affairs.
