President Tinubu has reappoint Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa as the Chairman of NDLEA
The reappointment was confirmed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Friday 14th of November.
Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa rtd. Is reappoint for five years as the chairman/chief executive officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA. with this renewal he will remain in the position of the NDLEA until 2031.
The president express the need for the renewal of the appointment as a vote of confidence based on the agency's performance under Marwa's leadership he also urged him to not to relent in tracking the merchants of hard drugs, out to destroy people especially the young ones.
Since the appointment of Buba Marwa in 2021 under his leadership the agency has arrested over 73,000 drug mules and barons and more than 15 million kilogrammes of various illicit substances including high-profile drug busts has been seized.
During his tenure their have been stronger collaboration with international partners like US DEA and UK NCA, while special efforts to professionalize the agency, strengthen its maritime interdiction.
