Ondo state house of assembly has denied any plans to impeach it speaker





The wish to impeach the speaker was made by 12 out of 26 lawmakers through a Vote of No Confidence and Notice of Removal of the Speaker, the lawmakers alleged the speaker Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji of diversion of 50 million (£50 million) that was allocated for the conduct of public hearing.


Among other allegations made by the 12 lawmakers include; misappropriation of the House's monthly operational grants, Gross Misconduct they also called for immediate investigation, prosecute, and recovery of all misappropriated public funds.



The allegations and the existence of any crisis was swiftly denied by the Majority Leader, Mr. Olatunji Oshati, and the remaining 14 lawmakers 
Stating that there are no crisis in the Assembly and no impeachment move against Mr Speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji.



The majority leader noted that the topic of removing the Speaker has never been discussed in plenary sittings or parliamentary meetings and that the allegations are malicious, unfounded and fabrication to tanish the speaker, he also said that the proceedings are not according to the house's rules and standing orders.
