EFCC declared timipre sylva wanted

Former Governor of bayelsa state and ex-minister of state for petroleum resources, timipre sylva, is being declared wanted by the EFCC.

The allegations on the former governor is in link to the alleged case of conspiracy and dishonest exchange of $14,859 usd that are alleged to be given by the NCDMB to a company named Atlantic international refinery and petrochemical limited, the project was never materialized as the project was never assigned.

The is coming after an investigation by the house of representatives on the alleged mismanagement of a $35 million investment in a refinery project that is giving to the NCDMB.

The arrest of Mr. Sylva was a court order that is released by the EFCC's public notice issued on the 6th of November 2025, in the public notice any officer of any law enforcement agency is authorized to arrest sylva and bring him to the commission to answer questions on the alleged criminal offense.

In his defense through his special assistant on media and public affairs, stated that Mr sylva is currently in the UK for medical check up , he also describes the current EFCC's declaration as a politically motivated campaign noting that Mr sylva was accused of alleged coup plot as his Abuja residence was raid by the military last month and now he is accused of this, his aid also describes Mr sylva as a law abiding citizen and will honour the EFCC's request.
