The Thrones of Ife and Oyo  Unite, Launching Yoruba Unity Council

In a historic turning point that is expected to strengthen peace and unity among the Yoruba people a magnificent reconciliation between the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, and the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abimbola Owoade took place at the Eko Hotel in Lagos.

The reconciliation was intervened by Sir Dr. Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu (the Odole Oodua of The Source) a billionaire businessman also a traditional leader during a breakfast meeting that is held to celebrate Sir Adebutu's 90th birthday. which was attained by the two mornach and other traditional, cultural custodians and eminent Yoruba leaders.

d the title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland to Dotun Sanusi a well known businessman, which the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Owoade, strongly protested against the chieftaincy title issuing a 48 hour to the Ooni to withdraw the title.

At the end of the meeting a Joint Council of Yoruba Unity JCUY was established to serve as a structured framework for continuous dialogue and collaboration between the thrones of Ife and Oyo.

The purpose of the  JCUY is to bring peace, unity, respect and to strengthen inter kingdom cooperation in a statement issued by the joint communiqué they noted that This marks a defining chapter in their shared history. They reaffirm their dedication to promoting harmony among all Yoruba sons and daughters, and upholding the sacred values of mutual respect and brotherhood handed down by their ancestors .
