The World Health Organization (WHO) released its second Global Hypertension Report
This report was released during the 80th united nations general assembly that is co-hosted by the world health organisation WHO, resolve to save lives and Bloomberg philanthropies.
It was stated that in 2024 a number of 1.4 billion people are recorded to be living with hypertension, but only one over 5 percent of the patients have it under control.
The report shows that the number of people with hypertension are rapidly increasing with significant numbers of the affected living in middle income countries, the report also noted that only few numbers have it under control but the remaining numbers are at risk of serious health complications.
The report call for a systemic national control programs and highlights to improve treatment and awareness among patients.
