Ondo State Police Command has sanctioned eight officers for professional misconduct over the past two months
eight police officers have been sanctioned for professional misconduct over the past two months in Ondo state, the Ondo state police commissioner of police adebowale lawal confirm the sanction saying that the action is being taking as a result of complaints from the public regarding the officers' behavior.
The commissioner also emphasized that they are going to hold any officer accountable for misconduct, with disciplinary actions ranging from detention and queries to a trial, depending on the severity of the offense and the officer's rank.
The Ondo state commissioner also says that the command has been actively warning its personnel to avoid illegal activities like corruption, extortion, and setting up illegal roadblocks.
Lawal noted tha this action is bond to take place because of the complaints they are receiving about misconduct of some officers and some allegations of financial pressure on officers within the command.
Their are also reports that some officers are dispatching some large sums of money monthly which the command denied some of this allegations that include collecting money from officers for a deployment.
The commissioner has charged the public to continue reporting any issues to their divisional police officers, area commanders, or directly to him, as public cooperation is vital to the command's success.
