Federal government of Nigeria declared Friday as public holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo says the federal government of Nigeria has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlid, During the declaration Dr. Magdalene says the decision was made to honor the significance of the day to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, The holiday is to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, which is the annual celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The Minister extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe. He urged them to reflect on the Prophet's virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion, Also in the statement the Minister emphasized that these values are crucial for building a united, prosperous, and progressive nation, The government also call on to all Nigerians, regardless of their religious beliefs, to use the occasion to pray for the peace, security, and stability of the country.
