President Tinubu Commends Nigerian Students' Victory at TeenEagle Global Competition
President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to three Nigerian students who achieved outstanding success at the 2025 TeenEagle Global competition held in London. The students, all from the Nigerian Tulip International College in Yobe State, were crowned world champions in English language communication and debate.
The victorious students are:
Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17): Named the overall best in English language skills, she triumphed over more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15): Emerged as the overall best in debate.
Hadiza Kashim Kalli: Was awarded the Outstanding Talent Award, which included a gold medal.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the young women as "exceptional young Nigerians." He affirmed that their victory is a strong testament to the quality and potential of Nigeria's education system. The President also encouraged them to remain dedicated to their studies.
The students' success has been celebrated widely across Nigeria. Prominent figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Communications Isa Ali Pantami, have also offered their congratulations. Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose scholarship scheme reportedly sponsored the education of two of the students, has announced plans for a grand reception in their honor. Furthermore, there have been calls from Nigerians for the students to be rewarded with national honors and financial gifts, similar to those given to national sports teams like the Super Falcons and D'Tigress.
