Media Personality "VeryDarkMan" Addresses Relationship with Celebrities, Dispels Financial Aid Rumors
Lagos, Nigeria – Prominent social media personality, widely known as "VeryDarkMan," has released a candid statement directly addressing persistent rumors and public assumptions regarding his relationship with Nigerian music superstar Davido and other entertainment figures like Burna Boy and Wizkid.
In a direct and unfiltered address, VeryDarkMan firmly refuted claims that Davido has financially supported him or his Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). He stated, "You see that time I went to Lagos to go and meet Davido. Now, me pay my flight ticket though. That hotel where they say Davido lodge me for hotel, now me pay for the hotel though." He further clarified, "They say Davido contribute to an NGO. That's not true. I never asked him to make any contribution." VeryDarkMan challenged anyone, including Davido or members of his "30BG" crew, to provide proof of any financial transactions, stating, "Ask David, since when he know me? When I don't collect 1,000 Naira from him before."
He recounted an instance where Davido himself acknowledged VeryDarkMan's independence, noting, "Now, him with him out, Davido, now he say, 'oh mo, I don't try to give this guy money. I don't see say, he know they collect.'"
VeryDarkMan also touched upon an incident where he facilitated payment for an individual in Ghana who was owed $5,000 by Davido's camp, emphasizing his role in ensuring the payment was made after public outcry.
Addressing recent speculation about "betraying" Davido by meeting with Burna Boy, VeryDarkMan strongly pushed back. "Am I Davido's boy? Are they work for Davido? What do you mean by I betray Davido?" He explained his interaction with Burna Boy, highlighting that their discussions revolved around politics, Nigeria's progress, and youth engagement, not other artists. He stated, "The video topic did not come out. Whiskey topic did not come out. I was surprised."
VeryDarkMan stressed his neutrality and independence, asserting, "I am nobody's boy. I know be any of them boy. None of them they feed me. None of them they have any money enter my hand." He vowed to continue speaking truth to power and holding individuals accountable, regardless of their status. "If Davido do, I go blast them. If Wizkid do, I go blast them. If Burna Boy do, I go blast them. Nobody go do anything about that."
He concluded by reiterating his self-sufficiency, stating, "I don't need Davido for nothing. I don't need Wizkid for nothing. I don't need Burna. I don't need nobody."
