Ghana Hosts Landmark African Political Parties Summit
Accra, Ghana, is the host city for the African Political Parties Summit, a major three-day event running from August 12 to 14, 2025. Organized by the Africa Governance Centre in collaboration with the Government of Ghana, the summit has gathered an unprecedented number of political stakeholders from across the continent and the Caribbean.
The summit's core objective is to foster dialogue and inter-party collaboration to strengthen democratic governance and drive economic transformation. Under the theme, "From Politics to Prosperity: Strengthening Inter-Party Collaboration for Africa's Development and Economic Transformation," the event brings together delegates from over 100 political parties, along with heads of state, civil society leaders, and international partners.
A key highlight of the summit's agenda is the expected adoption of the implementation framework for the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI). This initiative is designed to be a permanent platform for sustained engagement among political parties. The event, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, is a crucial step towards creating shared solutions and a unified roadmap for a more stable and prosperous Africa.
