EFCC Expels Over 100 Foreign Cybercriminals in Crackdown on Fraud Rings

Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the EFCC, alongside immigration services, has deported over 100 foreign national including 50 Chinese and one Tunisian for cyber-terrorism and internet fraud.

The National Orientation Agency commended the move, calling it a key action in dismantling foreign-led schemers under the guise of digital innovation.

The deportations follow the December 2024 raid on a Lagos building housing over 700 suspects in romance and crypto scams highlighting Nigeria’s resolve to shield its digital space.
