Former President Donald Trump welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House today. Their discussions focused on indirect cease‑fire talks aimed at ending hostilities in Gaza, alongside Netanyahu’s nomination of Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

During the visit, Trump announced resumption of U.S. weapons shipments to Ukraine, reversing a brief suspension and affirming ongoing strategic support amid regional tensions .
Earlier, Trump unveiled new tariffs targeting 14 countries—including Japan, South Korea and Laos—as an economic strategy. He later extended the grace period to August 1 to allow for potential negotiations.
The visit also sparked public backlash: protests erupted in Washington and Tel Aviv over Gaza policies, particularly Israel’s proposed plan to relocate Palestinians to a humanitarian transit zone in Rafah. Trump’s domestic policy moves—including Medicaid funding restrictions—were temporarily halted by a federal judge during Netanyahu’s visit.
