The case stems from alleged misuse of campaign funds during last year’s elections. The ruling has triggered renewed street protests by both royalist and pro-democracy factions.
Srettha denies wrongdoing, calling the suspension “a political maneuver.” Meanwhile, a caretaker government has been installed, but political uncertainty looms.
Observers say the situation could spiral if the court rules for permanent disqualification, potentially delaying upcoming regional elections.
