Authorities confirm that the workers were reportedly abandoned by local employers, prompting immediate diplomatic and logistical response. Nigeria’s Foreign Ministry and Federal Emergency Management Agency are coordinating safe extraction through regional partners.
Political observers have praised the swift action as a demonstration of government responsiveness to citizen welfare abroad. The rescue underscores ongoing risks faced by Nigerian labour migrants in unstable regions.
