Myanmar is set to actively participate in the upcoming 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), scheduled to be held in Nanning, the capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from September 17 to September 21, 2025. The country plans to exhibit approximately 80 booths, with a primary focus on its agro-based products and high-quality gemstones.

Number of Booths: Myanmar will showcase its offerings across about 80 exhibition booths. This significant presence indicates the country's commitment to leveraging the CAEXPO platform for trade expansion.
Key Product Focus:
Agro-based Products: A major emphasis will be placed on agro-based Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) products. This aligns with Myanmar's agricultural strengths and its aim to find broader market access, particularly into the Chinese market.
Gemstones: Myanmar's renowned high-quality gemstones will also be a prominent feature at its booths. The country is famous for its jade, rubies, and sapphires.
Country of Honor: For the 22nd edition of the expo, Myanmar will participate as the Country of Honor. This designation provides Myanmar with enhanced visibility and opportunities to promote its trade and investment potential.
City of Charm: Myitkyina City in Kachin State will be promoted as Myanmar's "City of Charm" at the expo, offering a cultural and tourism dimension to Myanmar's exhibition.
Promoting Regional Agreements: Myanmar's participation aims to further promote the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) 3.0. These agreements are crucial for fostering stronger economic ties and mutual trade benefits within the region.
Historical Participation: Myanmar has been a consistent participant in the China-ASEAN Expo since it first joined in 2005, a year after the expo's inception in 2004.
Significance of CAEXPO:
The China-ASEAN Expo is a major international economic and trade event co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the economic and trade authorities of the 10 ASEAN member states, and the ASEAN Secretariat. Held annually, it serves as a vital platform for:
Trade and Investment Promotion: Facilitating trade and investment cooperation between China and ASEAN member states.
Regional Integration: Promoting the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and strengthening economic integration in the region.
Diverse Industries: The expo encompasses a wide array of industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, electronics, tourism, and services.
Friendship and Cooperation: It aims to strengthen friendship and foster collaboration among participating countries.
Myanmar's robust presence at the 22nd CAEXPO underscores its strategic focus on expanding its trade relationships with China and other ASEAN nations, particularly in its key export sectors.
