Iran Issues Fiery Warning: "More Crushing" Response to Future Attacks
Tehran, Iran – Iran has issued a stark warning to the United States and Israel, threatening a "far more crushing, destructive, and unprecedented" response to any renewed attacks. This comes on the heels of a tense 12-day conflict in June, which saw Israeli and US strikes on Iranian nuclear and military installations, met by Iranian missile barrages, including one targeting a sensitive US base in Qatar.
Senior Iranian commanders, including Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, IRGC Spokesman, have unequivocally stated Iran's readiness for heightened retaliation. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei further amplified this message, vowing an "even bigger blow" to adversaries.
These fiery pronouncements coincide with stalled diplomatic efforts. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi indicated a willingness to resume nuclear talks, but only if the US guarantees that Iranian nuclear sites will remain untouched. Iran maintains its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, despite continuing uranium enrichment to 60% purity under IAEA oversight.
The Iranian leadership views the recent attacks as deliberate attempts to destabilize the nation and foment unrest. They've also voiced concerns about the "collective West's untrustworthiness" given the timing of the strikes during ongoing negotiations.
In a strategic pivot, Iran is actively strengthening its diplomatic and security ties with Eastern powers, including China, Russia, and India. The nation has also advocated for formalized security coordination within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to counter military aggression and state-sponsored terrorism.
