Beyond his government roles, Gergen became a trusted voice in the media, serving as a commentator on PBS and CNN while teaching at Harvard’s Kennedy School. His measured insight and focus on civility in politics earned him respect across party lines .
Known for his analytical approach, Gergen authored multiple books on leadership and political communication. He is survived by his wife Anne Wilson, their children, and five grandchildren .
