Faskari, Katsina State: Bandit Attack Leaves Dozens Dead, Security Forces Repel Insurgents
A fierce insurgent attack on July 8, 2025, in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State resulted in significant casualties among both the attackers and security forces, alongside the death of one civilian. Joint security operations successfully repelled the heavily armed bandits.
Details of the Incident:
Coordinated Attacks: Hundreds of heavily armed bandits launched simultaneous assaults on the communities of Kadisau, Raudama, and Sabon Layi within Faskari LGA. The attacks reportedly commenced around 5:00 PM.
Swift Security Response: Joint security forces, comprising Police Mobile Force (PMF) operatives, military personnel, and Nigerian Air Force components, were immediately mobilized. Reinforcements from Dandume and the Nigerian Air Force were swiftly deployed to the affected areas to counter the threat.
Outcome of Confrontation: Following intense confrontations, the security forces successfully repelled the attackers. Coordinated air strikes played a crucial role, neutralizing many of the fleeing bandits as they attempted to escape.
