DNC leads drive to register voters in unconventional community venues.
The Democratic National Committee and allied groups today unveiled “Organizing Summer,” a grassroots campaign mobilizing in nontraditional venues—book clubs, social media forums, local festivals—to register voters ahead of 2025–26.
This strategy aims to counterbalance Republican gains from the megabill’s passage and mounting public unrest. Volunteers and influencers will receive resources to push progressive messaging.
Early pilot programs in swing states like Virginia and New Jersey saw upticks in registration, especially among young and suburban voters.
Party leaders frame the organizing as crucial to regaining momentum, saying, “It’s time to take democracy to the doors of everyday Americans.”
