African Democratic Congress warns Nigerians still suffering despite reforms, urges momentum building ahead of 2027.
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, interim national publicity secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said on July 16 that “our job is half done” in tackling Nigeria’s hardships . He urged voters to rally behind ADC as a credible alternative to the ruling APC.
Abdullahi praised ADC’s recent expansion—marked by defections from PDP heavyweights like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi—but emphasized that economic relief remains incomplete. He cited persistent inflation, infrastructure decay, and unemployment as proof that the party’s reform agenda must continue.
ADC’s rise signals a new dynamic in Nigerian politics. Analysts believe its big‑tent approach could position it as the main opposition in 2027. Ambitious public pledges come with heightened scrutiny, especially if the party is to maintain momentum.
Going forward, ADC must translate rhetoric into results—fielding strong candidates, uniting factions, and delivering concrete policy alternatives to win voter trust.
