APC Open To Welcoming Nyesom Wike, Tinubu Declares.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is open to welcoming the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, into the party should he decide to defect from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and join the progressive family. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made this statement on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Attera Road 16 Naira Way, which connects the Ring Road on Unabi Aiku Way to Wles Shinko Road and other roads in the Caname District.
The President expressed that the idea of Wike joining the APC would be welcomed, even though he has not yet declared his intention to become a member of the party. He humorously remarked on Wike's attire, noting that he looked like a workman, having previously thought he was dressed for a wedding.
"This project represents more than just an infrastructural accomplishment; it affirms our commitment to transformation under our Renewed Agenda," the President stated. He highlighted that since taking office on May 23, this administration has been guided by a philosophy focused on reform and regeneration. Today, citizens can see tangible proof of that philosophy in action. What was once a missing link is now a modern, functional, and durable piece of infrastructure.
Wike, who is not yet a member of the APC, will be welcomed should he choose to register with the party, as the President believes his presence would be an asset. Earlier, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike, announced the renaming of the Abuja International Conference Center to the Bola Tinubu International Conference Center. President Tinubu reopened the renovated facility and instructed all ministries, departments, and agencies to pay for its usage to ensure proper upkeep and long-term sustainability.
He commended Wike for completing the renovation within one year of the center's closure, praising him as a transformational leader with foresight and determination. "I am greatly honored and happy to be here to reopen this international conference center as part of our determined effort to change the way we do things, reflecting our character as people of quality, determination, and great spirit," the President said. He advised not to pay attention to naysayers, continuing to commend Wike for his leadership.
"When I attended the ECOWAS Parliament conference here, it was in a dirty, disorganized, and uninhabitable environment. Whatever issues were present then are now being corrected, demonstrating our commitment to renewing hope and believing in what Nigeria can achieve as a great nation.
