110 Days of Traffic Tweaks as Ogudu/Ifako Bridge Repairs Kick Off This Saturday
Lagos drivers, brace yourselves! The much-needed repair work on the Ogudu/Ifako Bridge is finally starting this Saturday, June 28, 2025. This means 110 days of traffic diversions until October 15, 2025. It's going to be a stretch, but these repairs are crucial for the bridge's safety and your smooth commutes in the long run.
Phased Repairs to Ease the Pain
The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, confirmed that the work will happen in eight smart phases across both sides of the bridge. This isn't a full closure – only 50-meter sections around the active work zones will be affected at any given time, allowing some traffic to keep moving.

* If you're coming from Iyana Oworo (during the inbound Alapere phase): Head through Gbagada, connect to Anthony, and then hop onto Ikorodu Road to reach your destination.
* If you're coming from Eko Bridge (when the inbound Oworonshoki phase starts): Your best bet is to detour via Funsho Williams Avenue and link up with Ikorodu Road.
LASTMA officials will be out in force at key points along these routes to manage traffic, enforce diversions, and help you get where you need to go.
